States that 350-400,000 German Christians of Jewish origin were affected by the racist "new definition" concerning the notion "Jew" applied by Nazi legislation, which ranked them among those of the Jewish confession. They were partially marginalized by society and by the Church, and felt like strangers in their own country. They came from all walks of life and all political currents. Examines how they dealt with persecution and stigmatization. Most of them were "Mischlinge" of the first grade, Christians who had two Jewish grandparents. Their persecution usually did not result in deportation, but they had to cope with the deportation of close family members and were subjected to marital restrictions and forced labor.
