Milo March takes on Russia! Recalled by the Central Intelligence Agency, Major Milo March finds himself allied with the Syndicate—a situation he finds disconcerting to say the least. But the Syndicate spokesman, who considers himself a loyal American citizen, can do no less than accept Milo as an employee of his coin vending company, if it means that the Russians lose face. Milo’s assignment is twofold: find an American agent who has been missing for three months and check to see whether the former head of the Soviet Fourth Bureau, rumored to have been executed by the Japanese during World War Two, is really alive and functioning behind the scenes. With the somewhat questionable help of four double agents in the USSR, Milo, posing as an American gangster expert in the building and use of coin vending machines, boards a Soviet airliner and ends up in Moscow as the guest of the government. Since both the Syndicate and the Soviets know Milo March, his identity must be kept secret—which gets a bit sticky when a KGB expert decides to trace Milo through his fingerprints. Armed only with a small tape recorder, a camera (which carries a secret roll of microfilm) and a pen (that detects concealed listening devices), our hero pursues his active social life with a pair of gorgeous Soviet ladies, completes his assignments, uncovers a traitor—and gets back to New York with a whole skin.
