This is a book to the publication of "Which all serious students of Vedic Mythology must have been eagerly looking forward. In the articles collected here, Professor Dandekar, a widely acknowledged authority on the Vedas, has critically studied various Vedic gods from the point of view of what he calls "evolutionary mythology" and has thereby presented them in quite a new light. When these articles were first published in different research journals, they had evoked tremendous interest among Vedic scholars. It is now our privilege to make these remarkable studies available in a book form as Volume One of Professor Dandekar's Selected Writings.
