First Published in 2000. This is Volume III of ten of the Oriental series looking at Indian Religion and Philosophy. It was written around 1884 and includes the translation from Sanskrit of the 'Manava-dharma-castra' by the late Dr. Burnell which was completed by the editor. Trbner's Oriental Series was set up by Kegan Paul Trench & Trbner in 1890. It was undoubtedly the most important English language series in oriental studies of the period, publishing works between 1890 and 1930. The books in the series reflected the scholarly interests of the time, and covered an enormous variety of topics pertaining to Asia, Africa and the Middle language and literatures; religion and philosophy; history and economics, to name but a few.
