These are the proceedings of an international topology symposium which was held at the Gesamthochschule (Comprehensive University) of Siegen, June 14 -19, 1979. There was a rich program of plenary lectures, special sessions and mathematical films. Some of these activities are reflected in this collection of research papers and lecture notes.
