Diese zehnte Buchpublikation im Rahmen des ÖAW-Projekts 'Fontes epigraphici religionum Celticarum antiquarum' vertieft verschiedene Aspekte der religiösen Überlieferung keltischsprechender Bevölkerungen, von Britannien und der Iberischen Halbinsel über Gallien und Germanien bis hin zum alten Italien und Dakien. Es werden Vorurteile bezüglich der Ikonographie beseitigt, eine astronomische Struktur in Segeda kontextualisiert, der Pfeiler der 'nautae Parisiaci' auf eine neue hermeneutische Basis gestellt und Keltischsprecher im europäischen Osten ausfindig gemacht. Es werden teils revidierte Lesungen etlicher Votivinschriften und Götternamen präsentiert und theonymische Beinamen auf verschiedene Weisen durchleuchtet, das Verhältnis zwischen Gottheiten und Ethnika hinterfragt, das Werden eines Provinzialpantheons von den Inschriften in keltischer Sprache bis hin zur Römerzeit analysiert, die Kontinuität zwischen vorrömischer und romanokeltischer Religion in Frage gestellt und eine altkeltische und später synkretistische Gottheit bis in die historische Überlieferung der Kaiserzeit verfolgt. Die vielfältigen synkretistischen Phänomene im Rahmen der sogenannten 'interpretatio' werden im Hinblick auf ihre geographische Diversität untersucht und finden eine neuartige Systematisierung mithilfe von zahlreichen leichtverständlichen Graphiken.
