معرفی کتاب «The secret team: The CIA and its allies in control of the United States and the world» نوشتهٔ [by] L. Fletcher Prouty، منتشرشده توسط نشر Prentice-Hall (Englewood Cliffs در سال 1973. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

The Secret Team , L. Fletcher Prouty's expose of the CIA's brutal methods of maintaining national security during the Cold War, was first published in the 1970s. However, virtually all copies of the book disappeared upon distribution, having been purchased en masse by shady "private buyers." Certainly, Prouty's allegations--such as how the U-2 Crisis of 1960 was fixed to sabotage the Eisenhower/Khrushchev talks--cannot have pleased the CIA. Prouty contributed to Oliver Stone's handling of "JFK" & apparently apprised Jim Garrison of covert ops methodology. His role became a plot device, Prouty being the "X" played by Donald Sutherland. His book seemed a little outre at publication, but has stood the test of time, now being cited in academic & scholarly work. L. Fletcher Prouty (1917–2001), a retired Air Force colonel, served as the chief of special operations for the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the Kennedy years. He was directly in charge of the global system designed to provide military support for the clandestine activities of the CIA. Preface Contents Part I. Fletcher Prouty's CIA exposé, was first published in the 1970s, but virtually all copies of the book disappeared upon distribution, purchased en masse by shady "private buyers." Certainly Prouty's amazing allegations—that the U-2 Crisis of 1960 was fixed to sabotage Eisenhower-Khrushchev talks, and that President Kennedy was assassinated to keep the U.S., and its defense budget, in Vietnam—cannot have pleased the CIA. Though suppressed (until now), The Secret Team was an important influence for Oliver Stone's Academy Award-winning film JFK and countless other works on U.S. government conspiracies, and it raises the same crucial question today that it did on its first appearance: who, in fact, is in control of the United States and the world? "Col. L. Fletcher Prouty ... was the official Focal Point Officer for first the Air Force and then the Department of Defense for contacts with the CIA on all matters pertaining to the military support of Special Operations (Clandestine activities). The Secret Team pulls no punches, exposing the CIA for what it is and what it really does. Based on cold hard facts combined with historical hindsight, Prouty presents the CIA with an indictment--guilty of manipulation and deception concerning peoples and governments on both a domestic and international scope."
