Edward John Carnell (1919-1967), philosopher-theologian and president of the Fuller Theological Seminary, played a singularly influential role in the emergence of mid-twentieth century influential role in the emergence of mid-twentieth century Protestant evangelicalism from its fundamentalist phase.
