Next to Lieutenant Abraham Glitsky's bed, the telephone rang with a muted insistence. A San Francisco police officer's daughter is murdered whilst working for the city's court system. His best friend is defence counsel for the alleged killer. Slowly, through his rage, the officer begins to see the wider picture.
