The Fourth Floor: An Account of the Castro Communist Revolution

It's written by the ambassador to Cuba in 1957-59 and is a real inside look at how the State dept operated/maybe still operates. This book and the book Day of the Dead written by the then aide to the ambassador in Vietnam in the early sixties go together and left me feeling fairly cynical abt how and why things happen in Washington.
