## EDITORIAL NOTE This volume contains all of the papers read at Canberra with the exception of that by W. L. W. Sargent, for which there is an extended abstract. The papers by Ozernoy and Pronik were read by title only. The invited papers (indicated in the Table of Contents) are in the order presented, but the contributed papers have been interpolated as seemed most appropriate and are not in the order of presentation. I have also rearranged the discussion to relate more closely the remarks with the papers to which they refer. The edited discussion was derived mainly from the slips completed by participants but I have also had recourse to the tape recording of the proceedings, in an attempt to recapture some of the spirit of the discussion.
