I picked this book up at a "Ross" for just $7! What a steal!!! Gives you the real deal on detoxing, eating right and living a healthy life-style. Sorry but I can't subscribe to the craziness of foot pad detox, starving yourself and drinking cayenne, lemonaide and honey... I believe the body is the ultimate machine and if you put the right fuel into it, it is built to detox, cleanse and work better itself. Included in the book is a weekend detox plan, 1 week & 2 week plan and helpful hints on eating out, eating with the family, etc. If you really stick to the plans, even after you end a detox, you'll find that you look at food totally different. Besides feeling great, you'll start craving those healthy foods and soon that junk food and overly processed food doesn't even look good. All recipes are scaled to 1 portion on smoothies & juices and 4 portions for all other entrees, but can be easily cut to 2 portions or increased. And talk about great tasting! I never thought that eating a meal without meat or other protein would be good, but boy was I ever wrong! From Sweet Potato, Carrot & Prune Tagine; Turkish New Potato Casserole; Stir-fry Veggies & Cashews with Whole Grain rice; or Spicy Paella, you can't go wrong with anything I've found in this book. Recipes span from "Juices, Smoothies and Breakfast ideas", "Appetizers and Snacks", "Simply Sensational Soups", "Main Dish Salads", "Vegetable Main Dishes", "Tofu, Egg, Fish, Shellfish and Chicken Dishes", "Simple Salads and Side Dishes", and "Delicious Healthy Desserts". I've done all three plans and I've had my roomate join me several times on the one week or two week plans. I've also had friends try and experience the great effects of these plans. If you want to feel great, maybe lose some weight or just eat better... You need to get this book!
