When the body of a woman is discovered in woodland nearby, the Railway Detective is despatched to investigate. Believing the incidents to be connected, Inspector Colbeck must piece together the evidence to discover the identity of the nameless woman and unmask the person set on derailing Moscardi’s Magnificent Circus.
