معرفی کتاب «The Chemical Evolution of the Atmosphere and Oceans (Princeton Series in Geochemistry, 2)» نوشتهٔ Heinrich D. Holland، منتشرشده توسط نشر Princeton University Press در سال 2020. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.
In this first full-scale attempt to reconstruct the chemicalevolution of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans, Heinrich Hollandassembles data from a wide spectrum of fields to trace the historyof the ocean-atmosphere system. A pioneer in an increasinglyimportant area of scholarship, he presents a comprehensivetreatment of knowledge on this subject, provides an extensivebibliography, and outlines problems and approaches for furtherresearch. The first four chapters deal with the turbulent firsthalf billion years of Earth history. The next four chapters, devoted largely to the Earth from 3.9 to 0.6 b.y.b.p., demonstratethat changes in the atmosphere and oceans during this period werenot dramatic. The last chapter of the book deals with thePhanerozoic Eon; although the isotopic composition of sulfur andstrontium in seawater varied greatly during this period of Earthhistory, the chemical composition of seawater did not.
