معرفی کتاب «پوشش ساختمان: کاربردهای فناوری جدید در نمای ساختمان» (با عنوان لاتین The Building Envelope: Applications of New Technology Cladding (Butterworth Architecture New Technology)) نوشتهٔ Alan J Brookes and Chris Grech (Auth.)، منتشرشده توسط نشر Architectural Press در سال 1990. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.
An examination of new developments in the technology of structural and cladding systems of the past decade by means of 33 detailed case studies. The book is aimed at practising architects, engineers and quantity surveyors as well as undergraduate students of architecture and building. The buildings are analyzed on a comparative basis, and the examples and their respective details are assessed in such a way as to illustrate the full range of workable alternatives available to the designer and architect through advances in current building technology Content: Front Matter , Page i Copyright , Page ii Preface , Pages iii-vi Acknowledgements , Page vii Introduction , Pages viii-xii 1 - The Bandstand at Haarlem: Architect: Wiek Roling with Mick Eekhout , Pages 2-4 2 - Benthem and Crouwel's House at Almere: Architects: Benthem and Crouwel , Pages 5-9 3 - The Burrel Gallery, Glasgow: Architects: Barry Gasson , Pages 10-12 4 - Boyatt Wood Hostel for the Disabled: Architects: Hampshire County Council Architects' Department: (David White) , Pages 13-18 5 - Clarke Ascot House, Brisbane: Architect/owner: Chris Clarke , Pages 19-21 6 - Conservatory at Kew: Architects: Property Services Agency (Gordon Wilson) , Pages 22-25 7 - Cribbs Causeway Warehouses, Bristol: Architect: Building Design Partnership Project architect Gennaro Picardi , Pages 26-30 8 - The Customs House, Hazeldonk: Architects: Benthem and Crouwel , Pages 31-33 9 - Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre: Architects: Philip Cox and Partners , Pages 34-38 10 - The Devonshire Building, Boston, Mass.: Architects: Steffian and Bradley Associates , Pages 39-40 11 - Finsbury Avenue, London (Phase 1): Architects/Engineers/Quantity Surveyors: Arup Associates , Pages 41-45 12 - IBM Travelling Technology Exhibition: Architect: Renzo Piano , Pages 46-49 13 - Johnson and Johnson World Headquarters, New Brunswick, New Jersey: Architects: I.M. The goal is to show a precedent, and thus imbue confidence in architects so that they can approach a manufacturer with a reasonable working knowledge of what is feasible. This book contains 33 case studies of buildings which incorporate newer forms of construction technology. The buildings discussed include the Bandstand at Haarlem, Holland; Benthem and Crouwel's House at Almere, a town near Amsterdam, Holland; the Burrell Gallery in Glasgow, Scotland; Clarke Ascot House, Brisbane, Australia; the Conservatory at Kew, southwest London; and the Johnson and Johnson World Headquarters, New Brunswick, New Jersey. This book is intended to give at least some inspiration to designers wishing to improve their technical understanding of the newer building processes with which they are now involved and have the information available if they care to seek it.
