Sustainable Energy in Central Asia : Transition Towards Renewable Energy Sources in Uzbekistan

معرفی کتاب «Sustainable Energy in Central Asia : Transition Towards Renewable Energy Sources in Uzbekistan» نوشتهٔ Nigora Djalilova، منتشرشده توسط نشر Routledge در سال 2021. این کتاب در فرمت epub، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

This book argues that sustainable energy development represents a new frontier for many transitional economies, including those countries that are well endowed with traditional energy resources, as exemplified by the case of Uzbekistan in Central Asia. The book highlights the challenges and issues faced by the energy sector in countries which are undergoing a transition from government-led economic models to open market economies. Using Uzbekistan as a case study, the book demonstrates these challenges, as well as opportunities of being part of an increasingly interconnected global market, to show how governments can ensure inclusive economic growth and build pathways toward sustainable development by deploying renewable energy sources (RES). By applying the Quadruple Bottom Line strategy as a conceptual framework to evaluate social, economic, and environmental benefits and governance as a key dynamic component, the book includes recommendations for implementing a transition strategy to renewable energy consumption for developing countries and offers insights into ways of dealing with government policy in post-Soviet countries.Presenting a holistic approach to promoting RES deployment in Uzbekistan and elsewhere, this book will be of interest to researchers interested in energy transition in developing countries, development economics, Central Asian politics, and the management of natural resources and climate-change issues. The authors situate LC policy within a framework of sustainability in the form of industrial diversification and innovation-led growth, and examine how effective LC policies are in facilitating sectoral and economy-wide catching up. Structured in five chapters, the book begins with an introduction and then presents an overview of LC definitions and situates LC policies within a framework of economic development. The third chapter compares specific examples of LC development and highlights variations in practice as well as learning across case countries. The fourth chapter focuses on macro-economic, micro-economic and institutional challenges conditioning LC development and the ability of LC policies to assist innovation-led growth. The authors conclude by examining what the future holds for LC policies and their role in promoting economic growth and addressing the wider social, political and economic challenges in resource-rich countries. From whatever domain they come, engineers are faced daily with optimization problems that requires conflicting objectives to be met. This monograph systematically presents several multiobjective optimization methods accompanied by many analytical examples. Each method or definition is clarified, when possible, by an illustration. Multiobjective Optimization treats not only engineering problems, e.g in mechanics, but also problems arising in operations research and management. It explains how to choose the most suitable method to solve a given problem and uses three primary application examples: optimization of the numerical simulation of an industrial process; sizing of a telecommunication network; and decision-aid tools for the sorting of bids. This book is intended for engineering students, and those in applied mathematics, algorithmics, economics (operational research), production management, and computer scientists.
