We’re back! And this is going to be a fun one...I had originally intended to write this book as a side novel for theearth avatar. However, in the process of starting that book, I realized thatit wasn’t working well as a standalone. So, I decided to integrate thatnarrative into the main storyline. This burned an extra month or two, thusexplaining the slightly longer delay since my last release. However, I thinkmerging the two stories worked out pretty well... although, admittedly, I’mjust a tiny bit biased.Anyway, before we get started, here’s a recap of where we left off inArmageddon. There are a few moving pieces that are relevant in this book,so hopefully this helps bring you all up to speed. Don’t worry, I’ll keep thisshort and easy to digest:• At the beginning of Armageddon, Gloria enters Awaken Onlineand initiates an Armageddon event in game with the help of . The event throws the entire game worldinto a panic. The avatars convene a meeting and are promptlyattacked by . They manage to escape andpinpoint the location where the Armageddon event is being held.• When the avatars reach the location, something weird ishappening to the surroundings – the world has been terraformedand earth elementals are appearing. They are then confronted by , an army of goblins, and a game masterintervenes. During the ensuing scuffle, the avatars get kidnappedby and teleported to the Mile-High Club –the Gambler’s floating club – using one of the Gate Pieces.• The club is in ruins and the group is separated into two teams:Jason/Alexion and Finn/Eliza. They are forced through a seriesof “games” where the members of taketurns trying to kill them.
