This collected volume contains most of the papers delivered to the section on __Language Change and Geographical (Dis-)Continuity__ at the XXIX German Conference of Romance Studies. Interest is focussed on examining the commonalities and differences in the development of different Romance languages and/or dialects, with a consideration of the problems surrounding spatial and temporal continuity and/or discontinuity always being taken as the starting point. At the same time, this allows a weighing up of the relationship between internal and contact-determined language change. The series will continue to deliver new impulses for research and maintain the central insight of linguistics that progress can only be made in acquiring new knowledge about human languages both synchronically and diachronically by closely combining empirical and theoretical analyses. To this end, we invite submission of high-quality linguistic studies from all the central areas of general linguistics and the linguistics of individual languages which address topical questions, discuss new data and advance the development of linguistic theory.

Der Sammelband enthält das Gros der Beiträge der Sektion Sprachwandel und räumliche (Dis-)Kontinuität des XXIX. Deutschen Romanistentages. Im Zentrum des Interesses steht die Untersuchung von Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschieden in der Entwicklung unterschiedlicher romanischer Sprachen und/oder Dialekte, wobei die Berücksichtigung der Problematik um räumliche und zeitliche Kontinuität und/oder Diskontinuität stets als Ausgangspunkt fungiert. Damit wird gleichzeitig eine Abwägung von sprachinternem und durch Kontakt bedingtem Wandel möglich.
