Social structure and mobility in Russian society. Book on social stratification and population mobility on the example of the regions of the Northwestern Federal District, including the author's methodology for studying sociocultural stratification. On the basis of official statistics, an analysis of the level of modernization of the subjects of the district for 2000-2012 was carried out, on the basis of which a typology of regions was carried out, the features and directions of their development were identified. Relationships between the level of modernization of territories, social inequality and the level of social mobility are revealed, aspects of managing social mobility are considered
