معرفی کتاب «تحقیق مداخله‌ای تک‌موردی: پیشرفت‌های روش‌شناختی و آماری (سری کاربرد روان‌شناسی در مدارس)» (با عنوان لاتین Single-Case Intervention Research: Methodological and Statistical Advances (Applying Psychology in the Schools Series)) نوشتهٔ edited by Thomas R. Kratochwill and Joel R. Levin، منتشرشده توسط نشر American Psychological Association (APA) در سال 2014. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

"Single-case intervention research has a rich tradition of providing evidence about the efficacy of interventions applied both to solving a diverse range of human problems and to enriching the knowledge base established in many fields of science (Kratochwill, 1978; Kratochwill & Levin, 1992, 2010). In the social sciences the randomized controlled trial (RCT) experiment has, in recent years, dominated to the point that it has been acknowledged as the "gold standard" for the evidence-based practice movement (Shavelson & Towne, 2002). Single-case intervention designs have also been featured as an important methodology in this movement in that major task forces of the American Psychological Association (APA) recommend single-case designs alongside RCTs in their evidence standards. For example, the APA Divisions 12/53 (Clinical and Clinical Child, respectively) Task Force on Evidence-Based Interventions (Weisz & Hawley, 2000) and the APA Division 16 (School Psychology) Task Force on Evidence Based Interventions (Kratochwill & Stoiber, 2002) developed research-coding criteria for reviewing single-case intervention research. In education, the National Reading Panel (2000) included single-case designs in their review of reading interventions; and more recently the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) developed standards for review of single-case intervention designs to be incorporated by the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC)--see Kratochwill et al. (2010, 2013). Other professional groups and scholars have also featured appraisal criteria for review of single-case design research (J. D. Smith, 2012; Wendt & Miller, 2012). In short, single-case intervention designs are currently playing a major role in developing the research knowledge base in diverse scientific fields. The present volume endeavors to elaborate on and expand this role"--Introduction Introduction: An Overview Of Single-case Intervention Research / Thomas R. Kratochwill And Joel R. This text is a compendium of information and tools for researchers considering SCD research, a methodology in which one or several participants comprise a systematically-controlled experimental intervention study. SCD is a highly flexible method of conducting applied intervention research where it is not feasible or practical to collect data from traditional groups of participants. Initial chapters lay out the key components of SCDs, from articulating dependent variables to documenting methods for achieving experimental control and selecting an appropriate design model. Subsequent chapters show when and how to implement SCDs in a variety of contexts and how to analyze and interpret results. This book emphasizes key design and analysis tactics, such as randomization, to help enhance the internal validity and scientific credibility of individual studies. This book also includes in-depth descriptions of large-scale SCD research projects being undertaken at key institutions ; practical suggestions from journal editors on how to get SCD research published and detailed instructions for free, user-friendly, web-based randomization software. Single Case Design (SCD) is a highly flexible method of conducting applied research where there is no control group/condition or possibility of collecting data from large groups of participants. Thanks to remarkable methodological and statistical advances in recent years, single case design (SCD) research has become a viable and often essential option for researchers in applied psychology, education, and related fields. This book, with contributions from leading experts, not only summarizes the state of the field today but offers the latest information and tools for researchers. It is a compendium of information and tools for researchers considering SCD research, a methodology in which a subject serves as the experimental control.
