Sign and Geometric Meaning of Curvature

This monograph is an extended version of a conference I gave in Milan, within the Lezioni Leonardesche. It's an attempt to reveal to non-initiates the mechanism of development of Riemannian geometry, by following the traces of relatively few ideas, from the foundations to the roof.
