Science, Class and Society: On the Formation of Sociology and Historical Materialism

The present study is an attempt to grasp certain fundamental aspects o f the social sciences - sociology, historical materialism and more briefly, for comparative purposes, economics - both as activi­ ties in society and as specific discourses on society. It is concerned with the social and theoretical formation of social science.
