Reaching Out, Scaling Up: Eight Case Studies of Home and Community Care for and by People with HIV/AIDS (A UNAIDS Publication)

The theme of this report reflects a concern that has become increasingly important in the past few years. All too often good local-level responses to HIV/AIDS-best practices in other words-have remained local and small-scale. The many lessons learned have not been translated into bigger projects or wider coverage. This report focuses, therefore, on projects and programmes that have been able to scale up or reach out and in doing so have brought an improved quality of life to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. This document presents eight case studies from the 4th International Conference on Home and Community Care for Persons living with HIV/AIDS focusing on projects and programs that have been able to scale up or reach out, and in doing so have brought an improved quality of life to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. In 10 sections, this publication documents experiences and lessons learned in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, examining both commonalties and differences.--Publisher's description
