معرفی کتاب «Rationality and Religious Experience: The Continuing Relevance of the World's Spiritual Traditions (Master Hsuan Hua Memorial Lecture)» نوشتهٔ Henry Rosemont Jr.; Huston Smith، منتشرشده توسط نشر Open Court ; Distributed by Publishers Group West در سال 2001. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

This work examines how the world’s many religions contributed to humankind’s intellectual evolution and points out their value in the future. Rosemont also explains that all religion enhances our non-material lives by providing a sense of fully belonging. Rosemont argues that while Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are more interested in cosmology, Eastern religions focus more on instruction for those living in the world, in sacralizing the secular by becoming at-one with it. Nonetheless, Rosemont (liberal arts, St. Mary's College of Maryland) believes that both traditions can work together to help people better their state in this world. Rosemont's argument is followed by a commentary from Huston Smith. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR The author puts forth two arguments in this volume: that Western science and education are products of an Abrahamic world view and; that all religions, regardless of tradition, enhance our non-material lives by providing direction towards a religious experience, a sense of "fully belonging". Henry Rosemont, Jr. ; With A Commentary By Huston Smith, Followed By A Response, Discussion And Epilogue. Includes Bibliographical References (p. 95-104) And Index. WE ARE AT THE DAWN NOT ONLY OF A NEW CENTURY, but a new millennium.
