Claudia Globisch nimmt den Antisemitismus im linken und rechten Spektrum der Bundesrepublik nach 1989 bis zur Gegenwart auf Basis eines neuen wissenssoziologischen Zugangs erstmals empirisch vergleichend in den Blick. Focuses on antisemitism as a worldview, and examines the structures of meaning in present-day German left- and right-wing antisemitism. Contends that both political spectrums reproduce the earlier semantics of modern antisemitism with some context-sensitive structural variations. The variations concern particular inclusion and exclusion semantics, with which both spectrums integrate specific self-images and images of the Other. The spectrums differ in the way the We-group is constructed and how semantics are embedded in the arguments. The Left connects ethnicity with social class and capitalism-related friend/enemy models, whereas the Right explicitly mentions the ethnic difference between the We-group and the Jewish out-group. The Left camouflages its reference to Jews as an ethnic group by speaking of "Israel" and "Zionism", and singles out this collective as representing the class or ideological enemy, thus bringing the persecutor status of the Jews into the present. The status of Jews as victims during the Holocaust is generally not denied. Left-wing antisemitism also connects the We-group to a solidarity group, such as the Palestinians or Arabs, who are presented as the victims of the Jews. Right-wing antisemitism favors "völkisch" ethno-pluralistic arguments. Contends that the construction of the We-groups in both spectrums relies very little on classical anti-Jewish stereotypes. Suggests that the distinction between economic, political, cultural, secondary, and left- and right-wing antisemitism be replaced by the general concept of national antisemitism, since it displays stable semantic patterns which are repeated in both spectrums.
