معرفی کتاب «Principles of Polymer Chemistry (The George Fisher Baker Non-Resident Lectureship in Chemistry at Cornell University)» نوشتهٔ By Paul J. Flory، منتشرشده توسط نشر Cornell University Press در سال 1953. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.
It was the author's privilege to hold the George Fisher Baker Nonresident Lectureship in Chemistry at Cornell University during the spring of 1948. This book had its inception at that time. The uncompleted manuscript was laid aside shortly thereafter, and the work was not resumed until 1951. During the intervening years much new material became available from the ever-increasing literature, and major revision of manuscript and outlines consequently was necessary. The momentum of extensive investigations on the kinetics of addition polymerization, undertaken in various laboratories at the close of the war, carried this phase of the subject to an advanced stage of development. The material on dilute polymer solutions, appearing in the later chapters, had to be completely recast and expanded in the face of recent theories and experiments. The book consequently goes considerably beyond the Baker lectures both in scope and in the inclusion of new developments. chapter 1:Historical introduction Chapter 2: Type of polymeric Definitions and classifications Chapter 3: Molecular size and chemical Principles of condensation polymerization Chapter 4: Polymerization of unsaturated monomers by free radical mechanisms Chapter 5: Copolymerization, emulsion polymerization and ionic polymerization Chapter 6: The structure of vinyl polymers Chapter 7: Determination of molecular weights Chapter 8: Molecular weight distributions in linear polymers Chapter 9: Molecular weight distributions in nonlinear polymers and the theory of gelation Chapter 10: Configuration of polymer chains Chapter 11:Rubbr elasticity Chapter 12: Statistical thermodynamics of polymer solutions Chapter 13: Phase equilibria in polymer systems Chapter 14: Configurational and frictional properties of the polymer molecule in dilute solution Historical introduction Types of polymeric substances: definitions and classifications Molecular size and chemical reactivity; principles of condensation polymerization Polymerization of unsaturated monomers by free radical mechanisms Copolymerization, emulsion polymerization and ionic polymerization The structure of vinyl polymers Determination of molecular weights Molecular weight distributions in linear polymers Molecular weight distributions in nonlinear polymers and the theory of gelation Configuration of polymer chains Rubber elasticity Statistical thermodynamics of polymer solutions Phase equilibria in polymer systems Configurational and frictional properties of the polymer molecule in dilute solution.
