Provenance of these DocumentsThe eight documents from Democratic Kampuchea reproduced intranslation in this book have been selected from a large collection compiledfrom a variety of sources.Document l was made available to me by a Khmer who had discovered itin Phnom Penh in early 1979. Document 2 was kindly provided to ChanthouBoua and me by Timothy Carney in early 1979 (and when our copy wasmislaid, once again in 1984). I copied Documents 3 to 7 in 1980 from theoriginals held in the Institute of Social Science, Phnom Penh.
