Description:This is a companion workbook to the fourth edition of Phlebotomy Essentials.
Purpose:The workbook is intended for readers/students to test, practice, and reinforce their new knowledge. This workbook nicely meets these objectives.
Audience:The audience is phlebotomy students, in particular those learning phlebotomy from the companion textbook.
Features:As a workbook, it includes quizzes, fill in the blank type questions, and even some fun exercises (e.g., crossword puzzles) to test and reinforce phlebotomy knowledge. Of interest, the authors state that the written answers required for some of the exercises allow spelling practice. The quizzes and exercises are well constructed, focus on key learning objectives, and are actually fun to do. The format reminds me a lot of elementary or junior high type quizzes. The book is printed on newsprint equivalent paper, so my only caution is to those who might want to erase/revise answers -- don't erase too hard or you will wear through the paper.
Assessment:This is a handy workbook to have to test your knowledge if you are learning phlebotomy using the companion textbook.
