Petroleum Exploration of Ireland's Offshore Basins (Geological Society Special Publication)

معرفی کتاب «Petroleum Exploration of Ireland's Offshore Basins (Geological Society Special Publication)» نوشتهٔ P. M. Shannon, P. D. W. Haughton, D. V. Corcoran، منتشرشده توسط نشر Geological Society; AAPG Bookstore [distributor]; Geological Society of London در سال 2002. این کتاب در 20 صفحه، فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

This book covers a wide range of exploration topics from the regional to the field scale. It provides new information on Neogene to Recent stratigraphy and sedimentation in the North Atlantic. A significant amount of exploration has taken place since the publication of Geological Society Special Publication no. 93 (Petroleum Geology of Ireland's Offshore Basins) in 1995. In this new publication there is a greater emphasis on results from the Atlantic Margin basins and reflection on the course of exploration in the past 5 years. Also, The Proceedings of the 5th Conference (Barbican volumes) of 1999 has a number of papers on the basins of west Ireland but the present volume is more up to date and comprehensive in its coverage of the Irish offshore. The present volume will be complementary to both these previous publications but will stand alone as an integrated volume on the results of all aspects of exploration in the Irish offshore region. The impending declaration of commerciality, and the commencement of development, of the Corrib Gas Field of west Ireland will increase future interest in the region, also adding to this book's value. Readership: Oil industry explorationists and researchers interested in NW European sedimentary basins. Also, research students working on the Mesozoic/Cenozoic basins of NW Europe. Can be used as a reference book for advanced undergraduate students or for postgraduate students taking courses in petroleum exploration or basin analysis. Also available: North Atlantic Igneous Province - Special Publication No 197 - ISBN 9781862391086 The Future of Geological Modelling in Hydrocarbon Development - Special Publication no 309 - ISBN 1862392668 The Geological Society of LondonFounded in 1807, the Geological Society of London is the oldest geological society in the world, and one of the largest publishers in the Earth sciences. The Society publishes a wide range of high-quality peer-reviewed titles for academics and professionals working in the geosciences, and enjoys an enviable international reputation for the quality of its work. The many areas in which we publish in include:-Petroleum geology-Tectonics, structural geology and geodynamics-Stratigraphy, sedimentology and paleontology-Volcanology, magmatic studies and geochemistry-Remote sensing-History of geology-Regional geology guides The Future Of Geological Modelling In Hydrocarbon Development: Introduction / A. The 3D geological model is still regarded as one of the newest and most innovative tools for reservoir management purposes. The computer modelling of structures, rock properties and fluid flow in hydrocarbon reservoirs has evolved from a specialist activity to part of the standard desktop toolkit. The application of these techniques has allowed all disciplines of the subsurface team to collaborate in a common workspace. In today's asset teams, the role of the geological model in hydrocarbon development planning is key and will be for some time ahead Recently, recognition of the potential role of large igneous provinces in affecting ocean and atmosphere systems and biotic evolutionary pathways has lead to increased interest in this province. This has been further stimulated by the expansion in the search for oil and gas in Mesozoic and Tertiary sediments along the NE Atlantic Margin. An improved understanding of the interaction between igneous and sedimentary processes is vital for the identification of potential hydrocarbon resources This guide covers a wide range of exploration topics from the regional to the field scale. It provides new information on Neogene to recent stratigraphy and sedimentation in the North Atlantic Title from e-book title screen (viewed on July 8, 2005).
