Peacebuilding Paradigms : The Impact of Theoretical Diversity on Implementing Sustainable Peace
معرفی کتاب «Peacebuilding Paradigms : The Impact of Theoretical Diversity on Implementing Sustainable Peace» نوشتهٔ Henry F. Carey (editor)، منتشرشده توسط نشر Cambridge University Press (Virtual Publishing) در سال 2020. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.
Peacebuilding Paradigms focuses on how seven paradigms from the Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Policy Analysis subfields - Realism, Liberalism, Constructivism, Cosmopolitanism, Critical Theories, Locality, and Policy - analyze peacebuilding. The contributors explore the arguments of each paradigm, and then compare and contrast them. This book suggests that a hybrid approach that incorporates useful insights from each of these paradigms best explains how and why peacebuilding projects and policies succeed in some cases, fail in others, and provide lessons learned. Rather than merely using a theoretical approach, the authors use case studies to demonstrate why a focus on just one paradigm alone as an explanatory model is insufficient. This collection directly at how peacebuilding theory affects peacebuilding policies, and provides recommendations for best practices for future peacebuilding missions. frontmatter Contents Figures Tables Contributors Foreword Introduction part I The Realist Paradigm 1 Strategies for Peace 2 Realism, Rationalism, and Peace 3 Building Peace through Social Relationships part II The Liberal Paradigm 4 Liberal Peacebuilding 5 Conflict Prevention and Management part III The Constructivist Paradigm 6 The Social Construction of Peacebuilding 7 Generations of Constructing Peace part IV The Cosmopolitan Paradigm 8 A Pluralist Cosmopolitanism for the Twenty-First Century 9 The International Law of Peace 10 Islamic Gnosticism and Peace part v The Critical Theory Paradigm 11 Critical Approaches to Peacebuilding 12 A New Paradigm 13 From Scylla to Charybdis? part vi The Locality Paradigm 14 Envisioning Peace|Transforming Conflict 15 Paradigm Partners for Locally Grounded Peacebuilding 16 Cultural Peacebuilding part vii The Policy Paradigm 17 Peacebuilding Paradigm from the Perspective of Policy Approach 18 A Bottom-Up View at Peacebuilding Conclusion Bibliography Index La 4ème de couverture indique : "Peacebuilding paradigms analyzes how seven political science paradigms : realism, liberalism, constructivism, cosmopolitanism, critical theoris, locality and policy, have been used to interpret the causes and consequences of peacebuilding differently. The contributors explore the arguments of each paradigm, and then compare and contrast them. This book suggests that a hybrid approach that incorporates useful insights from each of these paradigms best explains how and why peacebuilding projects and policies succeed in some cases, fail in others, and provide lessons learned. "Through the lens of realism, peace is a macro-level top-down outcome that is primarily governed by state behavior. The spectrum of peace concepts associated with realism primarily relate to peacemaking and peacekeeping. Leading proponents of realism do not grapple with peacebuilding. Peacebuilding is a post-conflict process that transitions a society from war to peace, which includes a variety of sub-elements including: development of infrastructure, sustainable economy, public health system, institution building, rule of law & human rights, humanitarian aid, peacekeeping, security & disarmament, education, justice & reconciliation forums "-- Provided by publisher
