She established the Young Diabetes in Oxford study, a resource of over 1200 individuals with young-onset diabetes in the Thames Valley. She is also a clinical consultant, leading the young adult and monogenic diabetes services, and is Diabetes Clinical Lead for the Oxford Academic Health Science Network. Helen Turner's main research interests are pathophysiology and management of pituitary tumours. She also runs the adult Turner's Syndrome clinic at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism as well as being the clinical lead for governance. She has an active interest in legal issues relevant to medical care. John Wass is the Professor of Endocrinology at Oxford University and was Head of the Department of Endocrinology at the Oxford Centre of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism until 2012.His research interests include all pituitary tumours, especially acromegaly, adrenal disease, angiogenesis in endocrinology, and the genetics of osteoporosis and thyroid disease. He has published extensively in both books and journals and has been president of the European Federation of Endocrine Societies and Chairman of the Society of Endocrinology.
