Two English noblemen of vastly different means -- one a duke, the other an earl -- struggle ineptly with the changes occurring all around them. His Alastair Flythe novels will be humorous satires in the tradition of Evelyn Waugh, Joseph Heller, and Kurt Vonnegut. The genre is new to his readers but not to the author, who taught college English early in his career.
