The autobiography of E. J. Guerin, AKA Mountain Charley, charting their thirteen years of life living as a man. The memoir follows Guerin's life as a young mother and wife, which is ruptured by the murder of their husband. As a result, Guerin becomes Mountain Charley and lives as a man in order to find work.
