New York City Mayor Douglas Brennan and his wife of 20 years Elle are the ideal couple. Douglas is offered the chance to run for a vacated Senate seat and despite her misgivings, Elle tells him to go for it. When his brother Rory's wife decides to stir up some drama with some wild accusations about Elle, it causes stress on their marriage, especially when Doug makes the wrong decision on how to handle the drama for fear it may affect his nomination for the Senate seat
