Volume 16 of the Martin Heidegger Complete Edition brings together almost all of the speeches and addresses given by Heidegger, as well as other testimonies from 66 years of work: announcements, appeals, essays, official statements, a few letters, book reviews, commemorative words, a few poems and conversations, congratulations, Words of greeting and thanks, CVs, statements and appreciations. In addition, there are previously unpublished statements, especially from his time as rector, which can help to better understand Heidegger's personality and his political error of 1933. The main documents in this volume are the hand copies, here and there with improvements, of the individual publications printed by Martin Heidegger himself, in a few cases the new editions revised by the editor. In his epilogue, Hermann Heidegger gives a brief overview of the history of the complete edition so far and, from the point of view of the historian and eyewitness, reports on some things that previous biographical attempts have neglected to take into account
