Managing the Preservation of Periodicals and Newspapers : Proceedings of the IFLA Symposium / Bibliothèque Nationale De France Paris, 21-24 August 2000

IFLA Core Activity on Preservation and Conservation, co-organizer of the IFLA symposium « Managing the preservation of periodicals and newspapers » which was held at the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris, August 21-24, 2000 had volunteered to publish the proceedings. The task proved to be less easy than expected and was delayed due to an unusually heavy workload and shortage of staff. Fortunately, thanks to Jennifer Budd's precious and steady assistance, we were able to see the publication through. We hope that these proceedings will serve as a milestone and present the various options in the preservation of serial literature, either on paper, on microfilm or bom digital.
