At present a considerable number of English, Dutch and Germans are resident, or have holiday homes, in the countryside bordering the Sibillini mountains. We hope this book will help them to satisfy their curiosity about local legends and traditions, as well as deepening the native Marchigiani’s understanding of their cultural roots, to which Barberino and La Sale’s texts have so greatly contributed.
