 Very fascinating: a short article by an Italian numismatologist on [sede vacante **papal coins**](https://books.google.com/books?id=BwWmo0NzyFcC&q=%22sede%20vacante%22), which apparently existed in more than the 14th century's interregnums! I've always been interested in the history of Italian [numismatics](https://www.newadvent.org/cathen/11152a.htm), especially in light of what St. Thomas writes about private societies' right to assemble and trade ([ *Contra Impugnantes* cap. 2](https://isidore.co/aquinas/ContraImpugnantes.htm#22) co.: " *Privata autem societas est quae ad aliquod negotium privatum exercendum coniungitur: sicut quod duo vel tres societatem ineunt ut simul negotientur*." which Leo XII quoted in [*Rerum Novarum*](http://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiii/en/encyclicals/documents/hf_l-xiii_enc_15051891_rerum-novarum.html) §51; cf.
