into the plush rug in the middle of my lamp. How did you get in here? You have no idea? No matter, since you've got some time to kill, and obviously like a good story... boy, do I have one for you, my friend. One of genies and magic and lamps and wishes. Now, I know what you're thinking-I've heard this story before-but I assure you, this isn't that story. So, come in. Have a seat. I wasn't expecting guests, or I probably would've tidied up a little. Yeah, I know it's a bit cramped, but such is life when you're stuck in a lamp. How did I get stuck in here? I think the better question is how did you, or better yet, how are we going to get you out of here? Don't worry. I might have a trick up my sleeve. Lucky for you, you've stumbled upon an honest-to-god genie who once lived freely in a world where humans and supernaturals co-exist, each within their own society governed by their unique hierarchy. Within this wondrous world, genies like me live in a magnificent city known as Wish Falls where we've survived-if not thrived-for millenia. Now, being a genie comes with a specific set of rules, some of which I'm sure you've heard before. Things like we can't make anyone fall in love or no bringing anyone back from the dead d e s e d e s d . But the list is much longer than that, I'm afraid, including little things most people aren't even aware of. Like our lamps. Did you know that a genie is powerless without their lamp? Or that a genie can't wish for anything for themselves. Or that not all genies are all powerful. And that, my new friend, is where my sad tale begins. You see, there was once a prince and a princess, destined to become the most powerful genies their kind had ever seen. It was said they were transcendent genies with the telltale bright violet eyes of the royal transcendent line, who would grow up to have unlimited cosmic power. But where there is power, there is evil lurking in the shadows, waiting for the opportunity to take it away. Sadly, tragedy followed the young prince and princess, and with danger hunting them, they'd find themselves lost without the most basic of genie lore to guide them. They wouldn't know they'd need at least five mates to help them ground that incredible well of magic. Or that a simple touch is all that's needed to spark a mate bond. Or that a transcendent genie accessing their lamp without their mates comes with dire consequences. What? That's a lot of rules, you say? Trust me, I know. Lucky for me, I found this nifty little Genies For Dummies handbook waiting for me when I got sucked into this lamp, and Lord knows I've got nothing else to do. I've become somewhat of an expert, you could say. Sigh. And that brings us to the here and now. You, stuck here with me. Look, I don't make the rules. I'm just as screwed as you are. But hey, don't freak out. I'm a genie, and if there's one thing us genies know, it's wishes, right? Even though I've never granted a wish in my life. Sorry? What? No. No, I didn't say anything. I was just getting ready to tell you that all you have to do is wish yourself out of here. Some genie, somewhere, should be able to hear you loud and clear and come to your rescue. For both of our sakes, I hope they don't make a personal appearance because it'll be like sardines packed into a can in here. Sadly for me, I'll be stuck waiting until someone releases me from this damn lamp. Genies can't wish for themselves, remember? It's okay. I'll be alright. Go ahead. Just think the words... I'll wait. I wish to get out of this lamp and finish my book. Good. That was perfect. Hey, when you get out, maybe you could pass on word that I'm stuck in here? You'd do that for me?
