معرفی کتاب «Kinetics of Multistep Reactions (Volume 40) (Comprehensive Chemical Kinetics, Volume 40)» نوشتهٔ Friedrich G. Helfferich، منتشرشده توسط نشر Elsevier Science در سال 2004. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است. «Kinetics of Multistep Reactions (Volume 40) (Comprehensive Chemical Kinetics, Volume 40)» در دستهٔ بدون دستهبندی قرار دارد.
This book addresses primarily the engineer in industrial process development, the research chemist in academia and industry, and the graduate student intending to become a reaction engineer. In industry, competitive pressures put a premium on scale-up by large factors to cut development time. To be safe, such development should be based on "fundamental" kinetics that reflect the elementary steps of which the reaction consists. The book forges fundamental kinetics into a practical tool by presenting new, effective methods for elucidation of mechanisms and reduction of complexity without unacceptable sacrifice in accuracy: fewer equations (lesser computational load), fewer coefficients (fewer experiment to determine them). For network elucidation, new rules relating network configurations to observable kinetic behaviour allow incorrect networks to be ruled out by whole classes instead of one by one. For modelling, general equations and algorithms are given from which equations for specific networks can be recovered by simple substitutions. The procedures are illustrated with examples of industrial reactions including, among others, paraffin oxidation, ethoxylation, hydroformylation, hydrocyanation, shape-selective catalysis, ethane pyrolysis, styrene polymerization, and ethene oligomerization. Many of the rate equations have not been published before. The expanded edition of the 2001 title, Kinetics of Homogeneous Multistep Reactions includes new chapters on heterogeneous catalysis and periodic and chaotic re-actions; new sections on adsorption, statistical methods, and lumping; and other new detail. * Contains new chapters on heterogeneous catalysis, oscillations and chaos * Includes new sections on statistical methods, lumping adsorption and software and databases * Provides a better understanding of complex reaction mechanisms Is There An Underlying Set Of Principles That Connects The Pattern Of A Tiger's Stripes With The Design Of A Butterfly's Wings? Are There Hidden Laws Of Life That Lie Deeper Than Dna? According To Award-winning Science Writer Ian Stewart, The Answer Is Yes, And The Hidden Rules Are Called Mathematics. In Life's Other Secret, Stewart Exploits A Realm Of Pattern And Beauty That Links The Pulse Of Life With The Creative Enterprise Of Mathematics. Pointing To What He Describes As An Exaggerated Emphasis On The Power Of Dna In Determining The Shape And Behavior Of Life-forms, Stewart Compares Dna To A Recipe Book Of Ingredients, Quantities, And Sequences: Very Useful, But Far From A Complete Plan Of The Final Result. Beneath The Genes Lies The Rich Texture Of The Physical Universe With Its Deep Patterns, Forms, Structures, Processes, And Systems - A World Of Infinite Subtlety That Can Be Described Only Through Mathematics. Genes May Move A Life-form In A Specific Direction, But It Is The Mathematical Laws Of Chemistry And Physics That Control An Organism's Response To Its Genetic Instructions. With The Visionary Work Of The Zoologist D'arcy Thompson As His Touchstone, Stewart Unfolds A Series Of Dazzling Mathematical Patterns In The Organic World: The Ethereal Spiral Of The Nautilus Shell, The Fluid Forms Of A Jellyfish, The Boastful Beauty Of The Peacock's Tail, And The Amazing Numerology Of Floral Petals. He Leads Us To A Place Where Number And Nature Coalesce, And Where The Order Of Mathematics Manifests Itself In Life.--jacket. Ch. 1. What Is Life? -- Ch. 2. Before Life Began -- Ch. 3. This is the new edition of chemical and process engineers' favorite reference. Previous editions of this authoritative, comprehensive handbook have sold more than 887,000 copies. This Seventh Edition contains 50% new or revised material, including new information on condensers, reboilers, evaporators, and vessels; multicomponent and enhance distillation including azeotropic, extractive, and reactive methods; gas absorption processes with data on plate performance, plate design, and packed towers, super-critical fluid and membrane separation processes; biochemical separation processes; materials of construction; and materials for process applications. The Handbook is once again the standard in the field--with all the facts, figures, methods, and data engineers rely on and need.
Certain to take its place as the most comprehensive and authoritative reference source available to chemical engineers, this up-to-date guide retains the broad coverage of all classical engineering topics and provides information on principles, design and equipment plus data essential for performing calculations and solving design problems. It also offers new coverage of waste treatment and biochemical engineering, and other modern topics.
