Arguing against Solzhenitsyn's views in his "Two Hundred Years Together", states that there has been no conflict between the Russian and Jewish peoples, but only a conflict between Russian ruling regimes and Jews. Expounds the history of the Bolshevik Party and Soviet regime's policies and politics toward the Jews. Discarding the idea that the Bolshevik Party was a predominantly Jewish party, and that the first Soviet government was mostly Jewish in its composition, argues that the Bolsheviks were indifferent to the suffering of Jews in tsarist Russia, and Stalin was antisemitic from the beginning of his party career. There was no sincere struggle against popular antisemitism in the 1920s-30s in the USSR, and official antisemitism was on the rise, despite the fact that the Soviets, from time to time, liked to demonstrate their "philosemitism". Official antisemitism took overt form during the Soviet-German war and after it. Dwells on the murder of Solomon Mikhoels, the trial of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee, and the Doctors' Plot affair. Argues that Stalin planned a resettlement of the Soviet Jews to the north, which would have been tantamount to a second Holocaust. After Stalin's death, the Soviet regime continued its anti-Jewish policy. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism)
