The articles collected in this volume are a selection of the papers delivered at the Seventh Symposium Platonicum of the International Plato Society held at Wrzburg under the auspices of the Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften and the Mainzer Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur. The articles contributed by 48 scholars cover a wide range of topics on the two dialogues under discussion. They reflect the variety of problems, both philosophical and philological, posed by the two dialogues and Plato's philosophy in general, as well as a diversity of approaches by the contributors. It is hoped that this volume will form a substantial contribution to the current state of the art and provide a stimulus for further research in the area. The volume includes a Bibliography, a Subject Index and an Index Locorum.
