How to Live in a Secure and Peaceful Country: Advice for Muslims of Britain and the West

Concluding RemarksOur aim has been to demonstrate that Muslims can retain theirIslamic identity and live as contributing citizens within a liberaldemocracy. We have used verses of the Qurʾan and hadiths rather thanbooks of fiqh. The reason for this is that this a phenomenon which isnot described in the books of fiqh as it is unprecedented and has onlyoccurred in the last century. We have been able to demonstrateanswering the specific questions put to us of how Muslims should livein a land which offers them peace and security.We have been clear in challenging the perverted understanding ofjihad and that it has no place in our societies.We believe this type of integration is what is required from Muslims inorder to jointly, as co-citizens, make this country great for the benefitof all.We hope the book achieves its aims and objectives of bringingcommunities together and offer advice and direction for Muslims ofBritain specifically, and more generally in the West.
