Laura has a regret and it isn't easy to fix. Xandra needs a safe place to hide. Two problems: one solution. She is determined not to be held back by her ignorance of modern day life and embarrassing linguistic goofs. Chapter one opens with her expecting a new client, Xandra. Events corroborate Laura's suspicion that their destinies are linked and she sees a way to restore happiness to the man she still loves and cannot forget. She risks her own life and chance of fulfilment to return to 1814. In concentrating all her efforts on the past, she neglects the future, and is in danger of repeating her previous mistake.
