Handbook of VLSI chip design and expert systems : Academic Press

معرفی کتاب «راهنمای طراحی چیپ VLSI و سیستم‌های خبره: انتشارات آکادمیک» (با عنوان لاتین Handbook of VLSI chip design and expert systems : Academic Press) نوشتهٔ A. F. Schwarz، منتشرشده توسط نشر Academic Press در سال 1993. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

This book gives a basic conceptual and methodological understanding of chip design, and a clear insight into the fundamental principles in the computer-aided design of BLSI circuits and systems (CADCAS). It is a comprehensive text providing knowledge as to where, why and how expert systems can be employed in subtasks of CADCAS, and in the integrated chip design system. His book is unique because it gives an overview of the applicability of expert systems in all phases of the chip design cycle. The complete account of the subject matter is reflected in the bibliography containing more than 1000 references. Features: \* Discusses CADCAS with a focus on the most important methods which will influence future developments \* Reviews the growing field of expert systems \* Discusses the programming languages and personal computers that can be used in expert systems \* Uses illustrative examples to describe applications of expert systems in specific subtasks as well as in the integrated CADCAS system Although VLSI chip design and expert systems are growing to maturity, each in its particular domain, their integration (i.e. the application of expert systems in chip design) is still in its infancy. Publications on applications of expert systems in chip design are distributed among a multitude of books, specialized journals and conference proceedings. There is an urgent need for a book that integrates the scattered bits of knowledge into a unified and comprehensive text. The purpose of this book is to fill this need. The book gives a comprehensive overview of all possible applications of expert systems in the different stages of the chip design cycle. Descriptions of implemented expert systems give the reader a sufficient amount of knowledge as to where we are now so that we can assess future developments on a reasonable basis. At the same time, fundamentals are emphasized to give the book a lasting value. Up to now, books on related subjects have been restricted to a single specific subtask in chip design, e.g. either for high-level logic design, routing or testing. This book is unique in that it gives an overview of the applicability of expert systems in all phases of the chip design cycle. The comprehensiveness of the subject matter is reflected in the bibliography, which contains more than 1000 references. Handbook of VLSI Chip Design and Expert Systems provides information pertinent to the fundamental aspects of expert systems, which provides a knowledge-based approach to problem solving. This book discusses the use of expert systems in every possible subtask of VLSI chip design as well as in the interrelations between the subtasks. Organized into nine chapters, this book begins with an overview of design automation, which can be identified as Computer-Aided Design of Circuits and Systems (CADCAS). This text then presents the progress in artificial intelligence, with emphasis on expert systems. Other chapters consider the impact of design automation, which exploits the basic capabilities of computers to perform complex calculations and to handle huge amounts of data with a high speed and accuracy. This book discusses as well the characterization of microprocessors. The final chapter deals with interactive I/O devices. This book is a valuable resource for system design experts, circuit analysts and designers, logic designers, device engineers, technologists, and application-specific designers.
