"The articles collected in this volume are a selection of the papers delivered at the Seventh Symposium Platonicum of the International Plato Society held at Würzburg in Juli 2004 under the auspices of the Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften and the Mainzer Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur. The articles cover a wide range of topics on the two dialogues under discussion, the Gorgias and the Meno. They reflect the variety of problems, both philosophical and philological, posed by the two dialogues and Plato''s philosophy in general, as well as a diversity of approaches by the contributors.
