معرفی کتاب «Genetic and therapeutic aspects of lipid and purine metabolism [in honour of Nepomuk Zöllner on ther occasion of his 65th birthday ; symposium held on 24th and 25th of June 1988 in Munich] ; with 33 tab» نوشتهٔ H. Schuster, B. Stiefenhofer, G. Rauh, R. Taylor, S. Humphries (auth.), Professor Dr. med. Günther Wolfram (eds.)، منتشرشده توسط نشر Springer Berlin Heidelberg : Imprint: Springer در سال 1989. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.
This book, written as a Festschrift honoring Prof. Dr. N. Zollner, contains both survey articles and original material contributed by leading scientists in Europe and the United States. The genetic aspects discussed include DNA-polymorphisms in the diagnosis of familiar hypercholesterinemia, the LDL receptor, the characterisation of the scavenger receptor of the human liver, the expression of Apo AI, AII and CII genes in pro- and eukaryotic cells, and the disruption of purine enzymes. The articles on therapy deal with the newest information on prognosis and treatment with diet, increased physical activity and pharmaceuticals both for hyperlipidemias and gout. Special interest will be captured by the comparison of all known plasmapheresis procedures for the treatment of acute hypercholesterinemia. Front Matter....Pages I-XIII Front Matter....Pages 1-1 DNA Polymorphisms in the Diagnosis of Familial Hypercholesterolemia....Pages 3-12 Molekularbiologie und klinische Forschung: Das Beispiel des LDL-Rezeptors und der Familiären Hypercholesterinämie....Pages 13-17 Genetics, Drugs and Low Density Lipoprotein Metabolism....Pages 19-28 Visualization and Characterization of the Scavenger Receptor in Human Liver....Pages 29-42 Expression of Human Apo AI, AII and CII Genes in Pro- and Eukaryotic Cells....Pages 43-56 Hypoxanthine-Guanine Phosphoribosyltransferase Deficiency: Molecular Basis and Clinical Relevance....Pages 57-66 Molecular Basis of AMP Deaminase Isoform Diversity....Pages 67-70 Purine Excretion....Pages 71-77 Nephrolithiasis in the Context of Purine Metabolism....Pages 79-90 Front Matter....Pages 91-91 Prognosis of Dyslipoproteinemia....Pages 93-99 Acute and Chronic Effects of Diet and Physical Exercise on Plasma Lipids....Pages 101-104 Present Concepts for Drug Treatment of Hyperlipidaemia in Adults....Pages 105-110 Comparison of Different Forms of Plasmapheresis....Pages 111-116 Extracorporeal Plasma Therapy in the Treatment of Severe Hyper-β-Lipoproteinemia: The HELP System....Pages 117-128 LDL Apheresis: 7 Years of Clinical Experience....Pages 129-136 Clinical Aspects of Gout....Pages 137-144 Diet and Drug Treatment of Gout....Pages 145-154 The Development of Antiviral Compounds Against HIV and Herpesviruses....Pages 155-162 Back Matter....Pages 163-164 This publication of a symposium held on 24 th and 25 th of June 1988 in Munich th is dedicated to Nepomuk Zollner on the occasion of his 65 birthday, expressing the best wishes of the authors. Nepomuk Zollner was born in the northern part of Bavaria. While a medical student in Munich he was called up to military duty in the last year of World War II. After achieving excellent results on his examinations he served as a physician in several hospitals in Munich and soon became interested in inborn errors of metabolism. In order to receive the best education possible at that time he joined the group of S. J. Thannhauser, the famous German emigrant, in Boston where he worked from 1951 to 1953. There he was able to continue his studies on lipids, which he had started in 1948, and begin with his studies on purine metabolism. While working in Thannhauser's laboratory he learned to think and act according to the strict laws of natural SCIence. After returning to Europe he concentrated his scientific work on purines and lipids. Gout and hyperlipoproteinemias from the genetic to the therapeutic aspects remained the dominating topics of his research activities. In spite of many obligations as head of the Medical Polyclinic of the University of Munich and many activities at the university and in scientific societies Zollner's foremost intent continued to be the development and progress of natural science in medicine. This book, written as a Festschrift honoring Prof. Dr. N. Zöllner, contains both survey articles and original material contributed by leading scientists in Europe and the United States.
