For Machine Use Only: Contemplations on Algorithmic Epistemology
معرفی کتاب «For Machine Use Only: Contemplations on Algorithmic Epistemology» نوشتهٔ Schwab و V.E، منتشرشده توسط نشر &&& Publishing در سال 2016. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.
For Machine Use Only expands on the idea of machinic vision, featuring short texts by a range of thinkers, philosophers and scholars who were asked to contemplate the possibilities and limitations of a world understood and interpreted by algorithmically-driven forms of artificial intelligence. Our increasing reliance on computation requires us to come up with new ways of thinking about automation and its relationship to the politics of knowledge and our knowledge of politics. Scope and content: "The curatorial project 'For machine use only' by Mohammad Salemy is a human/machine collaboration. It takes advantage of the gaze of Google's reverse image search algorithm, through which users upload a picture instead of inputting words to obtain visual results. The larger project consists of Salemy inviting artists to submit digital documentation or original works into Google's reverse image search engine. The feed of responding images are then presented in exhibitions... The first iteration of this project was presented at Vienna's Schneiderei artist-run center in January 2015. For the Gwangju Biennale 11, Salemy is documenting the art works presented in the exhibition and is processing them according to the parameters of the project, exhibiting a selection of images from the research engine results. His project also includes this edited volume on the topic of machine vision and algorithmic epistemology featuring short texts by a number of contemporary thinkers, philosophers and scholars" -- foreword We are excited to announce the release of our publication produced in conjunction with Mohammad Salemys installation at the 11th Gwangju Biennale 2016.
