In declaring the war against terrorism President George W. Bush also declared war on the financing of terrorism. The international Financial Action Task Force against Money Laundering (the FATF) and other organizations have, in the wake of September 11th, enacted instruments and recommendations for combating terrorist financing and broader activities of financial crime and money laundering.
