معرفی کتاب «Enhancement Of Biological Nitrogen Fixation Of Common Bean In Latin America: Results From An Fao/iaea Co-ordinated Research Programme, 1986-1991 (developments In Plant And Soil Sciences)» نوشتهٔ Gudni Hardarson (auth.), F. A. Bliss, G. Hardarson (eds.)، منتشرشده توسط نشر Springer Netherlands : Imprint : Springer در سال 1993. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

The common bean (__Phaseolus vulgaris__ L.) is the most important pulse crop in Latin America, as well as in large parts of Asia and Africa. It is particularly important due to its ability, in symbiosis with __Rhizobium__ bacteria, to fix atmospheric nitrogen and due to its high nutrient value. Incorporating contributions from plant breeders, microbiologists, plant physiologists and soil scientists, this volume reports the results of an FAO/IAEA Coordinated Research Programme (1985--1991), whose main objective was to enhance yield and biological nitrogen fixation in common bean by reducing its reliance on soil and fertilizer nitrogen. The volume will be invaluable to scientists working on biological nitrogen fixation and legume production. Front Matter....Pages I-VIII Methods for enhancing symbiotic nitrogen fixation....Pages 1-17 Methods for measuring biological nitrogen fixation in grain legumes....Pages 19-23 Misconceptions and practical problems in the use of 15 N soil enrichment techniques for estimating N 2 fixation....Pages 25-52 Measurements of N 2 fixation by common bean in Central Brazil as affected by different reference crops....Pages 53-58 Genotypic variation in biological nitrogen fixation by common bean....Pages 59-70 Breeding common bean for improved biological nitrogen fixation....Pages 71-79 Mutation breeding of grain legumes....Pages 81-85 Yield and biological nitrogen fixation of common bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in Peru....Pages 87-91 Variability in nitrogen fixation of common bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.) intercropped with maize....Pages 93-101 Nitrogen fixation in breeding lines of Phaseolus vulgaris L.....Pages 103-106 A field evaluation using the 15 N isotope dilution method of lines of Phaseolus vulgaris L. bred for increased nitrogen fixation....Pages 107-114 Time course of N 2 fixation in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)....Pages 115-121 Response to inoculation and N fertilization for increased yield and biological nitrogen fixation of common bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.)....Pages 123-130 Minimizing the effect of mineral nitrogen on biological nitrogen fixation in common bean by increasing nutrient levels....Pages 131-138 Effect of different levels of mineral nitrogen on nodulation and N 2 fixation of two cultivars of common bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.)....Pages 139-143 Effect of fungicides on survival of Rhizobium on seeds and the nodulation of bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)....Pages 145-150 Effects of water stress on N 2 fixation and grain yield of Phaseolus vulgaris L.....Pages 151-155 Utilizing the potential for increased nitrogen fixation in common bean....Pages 157-160 Back Matter....Pages 161-162 Reports the results of an FAO/IAEA Coordinated Research Programme (1985-1991), whose objective was to enhance yield and biological nitrogen fixation in the common bean by reducing its reliance on soil and fertilizer nitrogen.
